Applicant should have a well-balanced college preparatory program that includes the following course work: 4 units English, 4 units Mathematics, 3 units Social science, 3 units Science and 2 units Foreign Language. They should have good secondary school academic record with a high school GPA of 2.22; SAT I Critical Reading score of 430; SAT Math score of 400; ACT English score of 17 and ACT Math score of 17. They must fulfill the English language proficiency by providing TOEFL scores.
Application details:
Applicant must submit the completed application form with a $20 application fee. The application fee must be payable by money order, cashier's check, or credit card. They must submit official high school transcript that shows the cumulative grade point average; official copies of ACT or SAT scores; TOEFL scores; and evidence of adequate financial resources. Albany State University was founded in 1903 as the Albany Bible and Manual Training Institution by Joseph Winthrop Holley. The institution provided religious and industrial education for African Americans in southwest Georgia. The campus has 231 acres located in Albany, Georgia, a progressive city with a population of about 100,000. The primary mission is to educate students to become outstanding contributors to society. The University seeks to foster the growth and development of the region, state and nation through teaching, research, creative expression and public service. Through its collaborative efforts, the University responds to the needs of all its constituents and offers educational programs and service to improve the quality of life in Southwest Georgia.

Housing and Residence Life offers a total of 10 residence halls - six female, three male, and one upperclassmen co-ed. Female halls include two traditional community style halls, two modern suite style halls, one private bedroom suite style hall and one fully equipped apartment style residence hall. Male halls include one traditional community style hall, one modern suite style hall, one private bedroom suite style hall and one fully equipped apartment style residence hall. Coeducational includes one fully equipped apartment style residence hall. The newest additions are the apartment and suite style residence halls. Apartment style units contain a common living area, a full kitchen, four single bedrooms, two full baths, and a washer/dryer set. Private bedroom suite style halls contain a common living area; four single bedrooms, two full baths, and a sink counter top combination. Traditional community style halls are designed with community restrooms and two people to a room. Modern suite style hall rooms are designed for two people to a room and four people to a full bathroom. Each student is supplied with a twin bed, desk, chair, chest, waste basket and closet space. All housing units are equipped with a 76 channel cable connection and a telephone outlet.
