Admission standards at Alfred University are competitive, and students are expected to have excellent academic records. To be admitted as an undergraduate student, students whose native language is not English must have a minimum TOEFL test score of 550 on the paper-based test, 213 on the computer-based test, or 80 on the Internet-based test. The minimum score required on the IELTS test is 6.

Students should apply through online application for admission and need to submit the following documents; $40 (non-refundable) application fee, Original or certified copies of all secondary transcripts showing proof of graduation and a certified English translation of those records, Submit a letter of recommendation from the instructor, teacher, school counselor, or principal. Student’s whose native language is not English must show evidence of English proficiency submit the official results for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Test System (IELTS). All undergraduate international applicants are required to submit official scores from the SAT I, ACT or TOEFL examinations. Students should also provide a written statement that describes any personal experiences or circumstances that have affected their educational performance and/or personal development.
