Course description:

This MBA Health Care Management specialization is designed to strengthen the management and business skills you need to function effectively within the health care industry. The curriculum, designed using guidelines outlined by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education, includes a thorough study of health care strategic and financial management, health care policy analysis, and legal and ethical considerations within the industry. People who choose this specialization are often pursuing mid-level management or executive positions in the health care industry or in organizations serving the health care industry.

Entry requirements:

International applicants must have attended an internationally recognized institution. All applicants are expected to read, speak, write, and understand the English language fluently. Those whose language of instruction is not English are required to take one of the following tests: the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB), or International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The only exception to this requirement is reserved for learners who have earned a post-secondary degree from a U.S.-accredited university. The minimum acceptable TOEFL score established by the university for admission into all programs is 550 for the paperbased test, 213 for the computer-based test with a score of 4.0 or higher on the Test of Written English (TWE), or a score of 79 for those completing the Internet-based examination. The minimum acceptable MELAB score established by the university for admission into all programs is 80, and the minimum acceptable score for the IELTS is 6.5.

Application details:

Applicants must complete the admission application and submit an official transcript for the highest degree conferred, as well as any post-degree course work. An evaluation of work history and achievements as demonstrated by a resume, statement of purpose and—when required by the program—letters of recommendation, and/or other relevant material may also be considered for applicants who do not meet minimum admission standards.
