Good for internships

- San Jose State University, USA
- MS (Software Engineering)
The university is good if one wants to get internships.
Selection process and gaining admission
Had to write GRE and TOFEL. I prepared on my own. I did attend coaching, but it was of no use. I did not use any educational counselors. You need a visa for sure. Visa interview was very easy. Tickets were available easily. I flew in Singapore airlines. It was good. There was a minor reduction in the fare. Landed at San Francisco. Its about 1 hrs drive. Allowed to carry 23 * 3 baggages. The 3rd baggage is only for students. There were no issues at immigration. The university did not provide any meet and greet.
Funding and scholarships
There is no financial assistance.
Your study experience
I am happy with my program. Professors are good. Lecture halls are ok. Library is very good.
Your life experience
I am living in an apartment outside the campus. There is a sports facility with limited sports. It is very tough to get part time jobs. Social life is not bad. Night life is good. Weather is very good when compared to the rest of US. There is an Indian society, but its useless. They do not handle anything.
Job prospects
It has a placement cell. It depends upon the department and the individual. There is a placement process. It is like a job fair. There are no rules for it. A lot of them, nearly 120. It is a little tough to get work permit now. Im not sure of the alumini society. I havent heard about them yet.
