Economy is too bad. Dont come to study here for next 2-3 years. You will waste your money.
I had to write GMAT and TOEFL as part of your admission process. I took some classes and prepared with the help of them. I attended coaching classes for these. I also took the help of educational counselors. I needed a visa. It was good. Visa interview was a bit easy. It was easy to get tickets to your destination. I flew Jet Airways. It was good. It did not offer any student fare. Not atleast in my knowledge. I landed at San Francisco International Airport, thats around 60-70 miles from the institution. The baggage rules were 22 KG*3 + 7 KG (hand bag). Excess baggage was not allowed. I did not face any immigration issues at the port of entry. The University did not offer any Meet and Greet service.
Very few assistantships/scholarships are offered.
I am very happy with the program structure. Professors are always professors. They always need to improve. The lecture halls and libraries are both good.
I am living outside the university. We have full sports facilities. It is impossible to get part time job at the university. The social scene and the night life are good. The weather is quite pleasant. There is an international student society in the university. They handle Bhangra night, Rangeeli sham, movie night etc.
There is a placement cell at the university. But now a days hiring is freezed so it wont affect much. Is it not easy for international students to get jobs now. There is a campus placement process in place and it tries its level best. A few global organizations attend these placement events. If you get a job then you dont need to do anything, your attorney will do everything to get you the work permit. I have no idea about the alumni society here.
