Panola Junior College (PJC), established in 1947, now has nineteen permanent buildings with more than 135 acres available for expansion in the coming century. The College offers a variety of instructional opportunities in county service areas including Harrison, Marion, and Shelby counties. It also owns a comprehensive community College in Carthage region. The College has grown from fewer than 100 students in January of 1948 to over 1,800 students, providing many services which enrich the lives of individuals in the region. PJC also offers distance learning through Interactive Television and the Internet.
